Jersey June Art Events; Fun & Free!

It’s hard to believe Summer is almost officially here but feels like Nature has kicked it in already in NJ.  And that also means the fun, free outdoor art fests begin as well as some exciting gallery exhibits and here are the ones I’m involved with this June…hope you can join me!

Two Artist Show at Artisanal Tattoo, Somerville, NJ featuring the travel photography of Lauren Curtis and digital drawings of Ingrid Hansen

TWO ARTIST SHOW AT ARTISANAL TATTOO STUDIO
I hope you’ll join me & Ingrid for our eclectic exhibit featuring my photographs of “cities of the dead” from across the globe (New Orleans, Prague, Pompeii & more!), and Ingrid’s creative digital drawings which capture the imagination.  Snacks & beverages (alcoholic & non) served, feel free to BYOB as well; bring friends to this FREE EVENT, 6/16/12, 8-11:30pm, 26 Davenport St., Somerville, NJ.  This exhibit will be up for a month after the opening party.

I’ll also be showing/selling artwork, original t-shirts & greeting cards & more at these FREE outdoor art fests:

EAST BRUNSWICK NJ’S ANNUAL JURIED OUTDOOR ART FEST
For the last few years I’ve participated in this family friendly art event..& even won a 1st prize last year!  So I hope you’ll join me on SAT. JUNE 9 (raindate the 10th) 10am-4pm at The Municipal Pond on Ryders Ln. in E. Brunswick again this year to see fine arts & crafts from local artists.  Beautiful outdoor setting around the pond…

METUCHEN JUNEBUG ART FESTS
Friday nights in Metuchen, NJ are transformed into a town-wide art fest with original art & fine crafts from local artists, food, music & more!  I’ll be vending on Fri. June 22 & 29, 6-10pm.  I’ll also have photographs exhibited in To Be Continued Bookshop for this event. Just walk down Main Street & it’s side streets for an art-filled night!

NJ Art Scene is HOT!!

And I mean that both figuratively & literally… if you’re in the NJ area, what happened to spring?  We went right into summer!  But can’t complain as we’ve had some awesome weather & I hope it holds out for all the great art events coming up over the next few months.

Here’s just a reminder for all you NJ art lovers that I’ll be participating in these FREE outdoor art fests in June:  (more to come in July!)

1. East Brunswick Fine Arts Fest: Sat., June 11 (Sun. 6/12 rain date) 10am-4pm. I’ll be at this outdoor, free arts fest again this year with my artwork & original cards, shirts, etc.  Set in a beautiful pond-centered park; Municipal Pond, Ryders Lane, E. Brunswick, NJ.

2. Metuchen JUNEBUG ART FEST every Friday night in June!  My friend Judy & I will be vending our artistic, original wares at this indoor/outdoor family event on Fri. June 17th from 6pm-9pm!!  The fest will take place throughout downtown Metuchen, NJ! 100+ visual & performing artists & musicians!!  www.junebugartfest.com has details.

Free Outdoor Art Fests in NJ!

HAPPY AUTUMN! It’s officially here but the weather is still summery enough for these FREE outdoor ART FESTS
in Central NJ!
I’ll be vending/exhibiting at both so come on out to enjoy a wide variety of artwork, food, music & more!

The 6th Annual Highland Park ARTS in the PARK FEST.
SUNDAY, Oct.3,11:30am-4:30pm, rain or shine! Takes place down Raritan Ave. (center of town) in Highland Park, NJ.
Art, food, bands, kids stuff, etc. I’ll be near 2nd Ave.

The 2010 Barron Arts Fest in Woodbridge, NJ.
SATURDAY, Oct. 9, 10am-4pm, Parker Press Park, Woodbridge, NJ.
My friend & I will be in Booth 20. Tons of art and fine crafts from local NJ artists in a park setting! For Mapquesting directions use
17 Green St., Woodbridge (it’s the Walgreens next to the park)

NJ Art Fests…let the vending begin!

Hope you’re all enjoying your summer & keeping cool! There’s a lot going on in NJ art-wise, and here’s some FREE events I’m participating in:

WAMPP (WineArtMusicPoetryProject)- Straube, August 21st, 2010
10 AM- 8 PM (Raindate- Aug 22nd; I’ll be here 8/21 (around noon) if we’re lucky with the weather.)

1 Straube Center Blvd, Pennington, NJ 08534

Bring lawn chairs & blankets to sprawl out on the beautiful historical grounds of Straube Center while listening to local musicians, poets, roaming performers, children’s entertainer, view visual art, taste wine, and more.

The two ends of the property are big enough for a small ‘south east’ grassy knoll staged area for poetry and music, a larger parking lot area on the west end for a music stage (faces strip mall with casual and finer dining eateries). Between these two staged areas will be the ‘Vendor Alley’ full of visual artists, roaming performers- magician, face painting, balloon entertainer, etc, and other exciting activities.

Please visit the Franklin Township Library to see the winners from the Clothesline Juried Art Show! I have a photo in this show. Exhibition runs until the end of August at the library off of DeMott Lane in Somerset, NJ.
