Art zine “At the Edge”

Happy almost July4th everyone!  To me, freedom means freedom of expression & creation, among many other freedoms, and to celebrate, please enjoy the following guest blog by Mike Felber, founder of “At The Edge” arts magazine!  I’m hoping to be included in this publication later this year so will keep you posted!  In the meantime, here’s more about what Mike is doing…

“At The Edge Arts & Culture magazine is an ’11 spin off from the Hell’s Kitchen Artists in Studio Tours (HK: ArtiST Festival), our 5th annual all free weekend held May 17-19.  We feature artists profiles, personal stories with passion & depth, fiction, poetry, reviews…With art dramatic to nuanced, classical-abstract, though our aesthetic tending towards the more surreal/expressive, well wrought &/or visionary.  Distributed this summer in 100’s of newsstands & bookstores around the US & Canada & soon sold through Disticor via digital apps, currently our premiere & expanded online edition are available FREE on, along with dozens of press features, sponsor/Media kits & videos about us!

All are welcome to submit by July 21 for our Fall issue by following directions on our web site.  Never any charges or money involved.  We particularly seek to publicize great DIY movements/collectives, individual artists & literature, + assist emerging artists with career & psychological advice & support.  We just held a summer solstice concert, one of the largest of over 1000 around NYC, with 8 hours, 12 bands then legendary-venue after party, live & body/face painting, giant bubble man, homemade food & drink, cheap-free…And held launch parties earlier in the Empire State Building Bar & NJ.  Want to be published, exhibit work &/or perform at our 3 all night festival, &/or parties, &/or volunteer with us or get features & a free by doing layout for
